3D ELASTIC FIBER MAN WITH PHOTOSHOP

My credit goes to gmehling@braincorps.de. I have got idea and get ready with Photoshop. It is really funny and energetic. I think it is ever fresh idea make 3D type modeling in Photoshop.

Let us start Our Elastic Fiber Man Process with Photoshop :)

Step 01 : CREATE NEW DOCUMENT

Create new Photoshop Document with your wallpaper size. here I choose width 1400px to height 900px with 72 resolutions. Here we do not need 3D tools here, so be happy :) You can use CS2 to CS5 versons.

Important: Save your document on every steps.

Step 02 : THIS IS ORIGINAL CREATIVE MODELING

This design really inspired me at first look. Cool and Funny. You can compare the Render with this file. Here I do not add body hair, tattoos and bracelet

Step 03 : SKETCH ON IT

Get Your idea by sketch based on Original Image. Select the photoshop brush (B) no. 14. You can draw with your mouse, no perfection is need or use wacopad.

Step 04 : CREATE BODY - RIGHT LEG

Select pen tool (P) with shape draw option in top option bar. You can draw with default color and later we change to #FF9900. Try to avoid more number of points. simple draw points make more curve shape. it looks cool. Here this Elastic fiber man leg has 3 parts with two circles. If you have doubt the uses of Pen tool, Please go to Photoshop help.

Step 05 : CREATE BODY - DRAWING THE LEG - 2
In the step 04 _ the end of the draw we need hair width open on first part of leg. Now Draw aother part of leg with second circle. Check, our second part over to first part of leg.

Step 06 : CREATE BODY - DRAWING THE LEG - 3
Here we draw last part of the leg. It is simple length. Check, our third part over to second part of leg.

Step 07 : DRAWING THE FOOTWEAR
Here we draw the slipper for Elastic fiber man. The slipper has Three parts, top cover for foot and middle part and bottom. In this step we set top cover. You can idea with the source image.

Step 08 : DRAWING THE FOOTWEAR - 2
This slipper second part covered inner foot. It has little wide and bend on floor by foot press. Be easy with you pen tool :)

Step 09 : DRAWING THE FOOTWEAR - 3
This step we finish the slipper set. just thin lines.

Step10 : DRAWING THE FOOTWEAR - 4
Now we are Draw Right leg footwear of Elastic fiber man. This step of drawing is Easy.

Step11 : DRAWING SLIPPER SACKS - LEFT LEG
It has two parts. yea! it goes to slipper. Now you select the shape color to #000000.

Step12 : DRAWING SLIPPER SACKS - RIGHT LEG
It has too two parts for right leg.

Step13 : CREATE BODY - LEFT LEG AND HAND
Pick #FF9900 or default color and draw left leg and hand. This hand has no palm and fingers. Where is Go? :)

Step14 : CREATE BODY - RIGHT HAND
This step is little hard to draw. Try with your talent with Photoshop. This hand has two parts.

Step15 : CREATE BODY - RIGHT HAND - 2
We Draw hare part two with four finger. listen, no need draw thumb finger. It will be extend by simple steps of next.

Step16 : CREATE BODY - THUMB FINGER
Draw outer part of thumb finger, check you draw with this step 16 source image. Later we add Round shape gradient for final look.

Step17 : CREATE BODY - HEAD AND HAT
Our Elastic fibre man head looks like Banana shape. OK, try and cover with hat on top side.

Step18 : HAT - 2
We add more front side hat parts. check the source image for details.

Step19 : HAT BELT, HAIR AND MUSTACHE
Check the Source image once, add hat belt and mustache and wing blowing hair. this time we need pick then color #000000 for your pen tool.

Step 20 : CREATE GARMENTS - TROUSER BELT
It starts from tip of trouser and cover with clip till shoulder. we need same color code.

Step 20a : CREATE GARMENTS
Pick the #333333 Code for this Garment. Here we draw with under garment. later we separate with lines and borders.

Step 21 : READY TO GO 3D :)
Till the past step 20 all we finished the drawings of parts in this Elastic fibre man process. now we are ready 3D modeling process. Yea! we get it from Effects.

CHECK YOUR BODY PARTS WITH #FF9900 COLOR CODE. OK, HOW TO FILL THIS COLOR? SELECT THE SHAPE LAYER AND DOUBLE CLICK THE COLOR BOX ON SHAPE LAYER > THE COLOR PICKER IS APPEAR > TYPE THE CODE FF9900 INNER OF # BOX > THEN CLICK OK. NOW YOU GET THE COLOR.

Now select the Elastic fiber man's left leg part one shape... did you Remember? We draw it first :). Go to Layer > Layer style > bewel and emboss. Please check with this points. 

Important : This points are not standard. subject to Elastic fiber man's size and shape. Do it with yours best.

Step 22 : READY TO GO 3D - 2
We need Inner shadow for fine 3D shape look. Check the points and get the right for yours.

Step 23 : Viola! WE GET 3D LEG
Finally you got the Leg. what you feel? Is look like 3D. wait fot please! :)

Step 24 : DIFFERENT STYLE FOR SLIPPER
We need Little different layer style from past process for slipper. check the points.

Step 25 : OVERVIEW OF STEP 24.
Check the layer style process looks like. It creates slipper highlights and shadow too.

Important: You cannot get this look in one step... please try, try and try.

Step 26 : OVERVIEW FOR PAST PROCESS
Now we are get finished right leg and slipper and left leg slipper only. Here we need some of changes. Yea! The Elastic fiber man's left leg is innered. go to > Leg part one shape layer > Press Ctrl key > press one more times ] key.

Step 27 : OVERVIEW BODY PARTS - 1
In this step 27 we complete almost body parts except part two right hand.

Step 28 : OVERVIEW BODY PARTS - 2
Be satisfy with your draw. Now we have finish body parts... oh. yea! we are waiting for thumb finger :)

Step 29 : OVERVIEW BODY PARTS - THUMB FINGER
It is miracle!. We create thumb finger with four finger :) Select your additional piece of drawing for thumb finger. At the Layer Thumbnail (?!) Yes, press Control Key and click mouse arrow.

Step 30 : OVERVIEW BODY PARTS - THUMB FINGER - 2
Now The Running ant is over the palm. go to > gradient tool > Pick gradient color > select #FF9900 and Dark color by this color code. Select Round shape gradient fill > drag over to running antz.

Step 31 : OVERVIEW BODY PARTS - THUMB FINGER END
Now You get the Thumb finger. Hi, do not fear about Garments. Now we are goes to Garment process.

Step 32 : MAKE GARMENT WITH LAYER STYLE
select the Elastic fiber man's Garment shape layer > go to layer > layerstyle > create bewel and emboss and Inner shadow.

Step 33 : MAKE GARMENT - BORDER - 1
Draw the belly line shape layer and make layer style with this. Try to create Outer Bevel style.

Step 34 : MAKE GARMENT - BORDER - 2
Draw more border line shapes around the Garment. make the > copy layer style > apply paste layer style for all layers.

Step 35 : MAKE GARMENT - TROUSER BELT
Do one more step of paste layer style for trouser belt. Now the Elastic fiber man is just complete in basic process. we need add more details on him :)

Step 36 : OVERVIEW IN PAST ALL STEPS
Now the look the Elastic fiber man... Yes. ofter the sketch layer off, he looks fine...

Step 37 : ADD DETAILS - SHADOW
In any kind of process light and shadow makes perfection on the creative object. Here we need add shadow details on Elastic fiber man. In Hand... draw with your pen tool.

Step 38 : ADD DETAILS - SHADOW - 2
Add shadow details on fingers...

Step 39 : ADD DETAILS - SHADOW - 3
Add more details on legs, left hand and right leg.

Step 40 : ADD DETAILS - APPLY SHADOW 
Now press Enter+ Control keys edit fill the color by #663300 code. and get the soft edged Eraser and go to the option bar, set opacity to 50% and just gentle apply over on shadow. really now, it is merged with Elastic fiber man body.

Step 41 : ADD DETAILS - APPLY HIGH LIGHTS
Check the source image and draw with your pen tool on new layer where the lights pass through for highlights. After You satisfy press Enter+ Control keys edit fill the color by #FFFFFF code. Viola! You done it :)

 

  

 Step 42 : ADD DETAILS - APPLY COLOR BAND
At the Slipper sack add two band lines with your pen tool apply gradient liner with two colors by
a) #0033FF and #000066 b) 00FF00 and #006600

Step 43 : CREATE BACKGROUND
Create New layer at the bottom of the Elastic fibre man layer. Choose on this color code with your liner gradient #CCCCCC and # FFFFFF and Drag over to layer.

  
Step 44 : ADD DETAILS - SHADOW FINAL

Create new layer for shadow on floor. draw some of leaf shapes for every needed places.

Step 45 : THAT IS REAL SHADOW
Set the floor shadow layer to backward of the Elastic fibre man layer. Then go to Filters > Blur > Motion Blur > Angle for 0 and Distance 20 Pixels. And repeat go to Blur > Gaussion Blur > Radius 5 or 6 Pixels. That is way of real floor shadow.

Step 46 : NEED FINAL TOUCH-UPS

Now till the step 40, you have the perfect Elastic fiber man. Now we need more touch-ups for glowness, realistic shade, color for realistic. Make Duplicate your document now. Turn of the background layer visibility, then go to > Layer > Merge Visible. You have complete Elastic fibre man layer and Background layer only.

Step 47 : NEED FINAL TOUCH-UPS - 2
Select your Elastic fiber man Layer, click the dodge tool (O) Apply over to Elastic fiber man, wherever you needs. My idea is apply border sides of Elastic fiber man. Do not repeated it.

Step 48 : NEED FINAL TOUCH-UPS - 3 

Now select the Brush tool (B) with soft edged, size 50 pixel, then select #FFFF00 on foreground color and go to top option bar, set apply mode to Soft light, opacity to 50%, flow to 100%. Gentle apply over to Elastic fiber man.

Step 49 : NEED FINAL TOUCH-UPS - 4
Here Elastic fiber man needs touch-ups of step 43 on head, Apply based on the Red round areas. Do not touch repeats.That is enough :)

Step 50 : NEED FINAL TOUCH-UPS - 5
Select Burn tool on tool box (O) Apply over to Elastic fiber man, where he has the shadow or you can apply Red rounded parts.

Step 51 : EUREKA! ELASTIC FIBER MAN HERE!
You done it :)

Important: Really some of steps do with carefully... More time and more practical makes easy.
